******** Golf Day********
To all Tsunami Soccer Parents,
We are having our 1st Annual Tsunami Golf Tournament at Spessard Holland Golf Course on Saturday May 22, 2010 at 8:00 am.
We need YOUR help to volunteer in several different positions (kids can also volunteer)-- it is not necessary that you know anything about golf.:
Volunteer Coordinator
Sponsor Coordinator
Prize/Gift bag Coordinator
Registrars (at least 6-8 on the day of event)
We would like at least 1-2 photographers to get the fun shots of the day for the MBSC website..
The goal for this year is to begin making improvements on the soccer fields ie: more lights on the fields for night practices/games or a kickback wall !
Our Tsunami teams work hard to make Melbourne Beach a well known soccer community! We would like to have the best possible golf tournament for these teams! We need your help getting it all started ! We are excited about this event and hope we can count on you for help and support. Please email the chairpersons at peter@tsunamisoccer.org……… if you able to help in any way or have any questions! Thanks,
Peter Duckworth, Robert Intille, Teri Duron.
Tsunami U14 Claim Victory in South Florida

The Tsunami U 14 boys team won the West Pines United Kickoff Classic held in South Florida. The first game versus Miami Lakes Soccer Club, was a real eye opener about the level of physical play. Tsunami then defeated Plantation FC 2-1 and Weston Football Club 3-1. The final game against Cooper City Cobras resulted in a 2-0 victory. The players all had to dig really deep to win this tournament. The tournament win was a sweet one for coach Russell Downie in that it was hosted by his former club and neighborhood. Congratulations to the players and to Coach Downie for this excellent achievement.
Tsunami shootouts put teams on top in Brevard Fall Challenge!

The Melbourne Beach Tsunami Strikers U10 girls (above) won their division in the Brevard Fall Challenge tournament over the Columbus Day weekend. The Tsunami girls came out strong on Saturday morning with a 3-1 win over Palm Bay 99 but dropped their second game 1-0 to a feisty Jacksonville U10 girls team (First Coast Academy). A 2-0 win over Palm Bay 00 in the final group game on Sunday morning sent the Tsunami girls into the championship game for a re-match with the Jacksonville U10 team. The championship game ended in a 0-0 tie in regulation and the Tsunami Girls prevailed in a penalty kick shootout with the help of some great goalkeeping.

The Tsunami U-11 Girls team (above) won all of their matches in the 2009 Brevard Fall Challenge in regular tournament play. They finished with the best record in the National Division which squared them off against the local rivals Palm Bay Fury in the Championship. Every player on the team gave 100% playing smart and strong. The game ended in a 0-0 tie which resulted in a shootout. With great goaltending by Kendell Mindnich, Tsunami won the championship 2-0. This unique group of 5th grade Gemini players and friends were also Champions in the 2009 Labor Day Challenge.
